Connection speeds on Lightwire Rural Wireless are best effort. We strive to ensure our customers’ rural connection will facilitate use of normal internet services - including web browsing, video calls, email, and video streaming (e.g. Netflix) - without loading or buffering issues. 

Due to the nature of fixed rural wireless internet, we are unable to make any specific guarantee of speeds in mbps (megabits per second). However, you can expect 8-20mbps download and 1-10mbps upload. 

For the best connection quality, we would recommend you use the network cable (Blue or yellow cables) we supply to connect directly to the router, rather than using the Wi-fi, if the device has a port for it. 

We continuously monitor the health of our rural internet towers and if there is an issue, we’ll let you know. We’ll also send you a notification in the rare circumstance that there will be an outage due to planned maintenance.
