To get started, you’ll need to install your SIM, whether that’s an eSIM or a physical SIM.
We’ve got both options covered below.
Set up your SIM
eSIM
Setup steps can vary by phone model.
Before you start, make sure your device is connected to Wi-Fi and you’ve received the Lightwire email with your QR code.
If you are not porting a number, once you complete the eSIM set up, you'll be ready to go!

Physical SIM (pSIM)
Your physical SIM will be sent to you by the Lightwire team.
Once it arrives, follow these steps:
- Open your phone’s SIM tray using a SIM tool or something similar, like a paperclip.
- Replace your old SIM with your new Lightwire SIM.
- If you are not porting a number, you're ready to go!

Transferring your eSIM from another device
If you get a new device and have a Lightwire eSIM, you will need to transfer it to your new device
- If you don’t have your old phone (it has been lost or stolen), get in touch with Lightwire and we’ll help.
- If you do have your old phone, remove the eSIM from your SIM settings, then set it up on your new phone using the QR code email and confirmation code text you received from Lightwire when you first purchased your eSIM. If you do not have access to one or both or these, get in touch with Lightwire for help
