Changing your WiFi Name/Password

We’re happy to help change your WIFI Name & Password should you ever need. The easiest way to do that is to reach out to our friendly helpdesk team on 0800 12 13 14, and we can make those changes for you. 

You can also change your WIFI Name & Password yourself, but this can be a bit more complicated/technical if you have never logged into a Router before. You can reach out to us at support@lightwire.co.nz, and we can send you some instructions on how to do this if you’d like to give it a go.

Password Security

When picking a password, we would recommend taking note of a few things to help make your connection more secure. 

1. A longer password is always better; anything over 8 characters in length is recommended. 
2. Using numbers in the password also helps to make it stronger. WIFI Passwords cannot contain special characters however, only Letters and Numbers.
3. We would recommend avoiding simple or easy passwords like “abcd1234”, “Password” or “12345678” as these are usually the first to be tried if someone was trying to access your connection.
