At Lightwire, we want to be transparent about the fees that may apply to your account. Here’s a simple breakdown of our standard fees for rural wireless customers:
Late Payment Fee
If your account balance is overdue, a fee of $17.25 (including GST) will apply. To avoid this fee, please make sure to pay your invoice in full by the due date, which is the 20th of each month.
Data Overage Fee
Each GB that you go over is charged at $0.50. (only applicable on the 150GB + 300GB plan)
Postal Statement Charge
We prefer to send invoices via email to keep things quick and convenient! If you need a paper invoice sent by mail, there will be a monthly fee of $5 (including GST) to cover printing and postage costs.
Early Termination Fees
When you sign up for a new installation, we offer either a six-month or twelve-month contract. If you need to cancel your contract early, here are the fees (including GST):
- 12-Month Plan:
The fee is the plan cost multiplied by the number of full billing months left in your contract, capped at $790. - 6-Month Plan:
The same calculation applies, also capped at $790.
Installation Fees
Here’s what you can expect for installation fees based on your contract:
- 6-Month Contract: $490 installation + set up fee
- 6-Month Contract (No equipment needed): $190 set up fee
- 12-Month Contract: No installation fee + set up fee applies.
Relocation Costs
If you’re moving to a new address and need installation, some fees may apply:
If you’re in an existing contract, we’ll update your address and restart your contract to the new location.
If you're not in a contract, installation will follow our new connections policy: it's free with a 12-month contract or will cost $490 (including GST) with a six-month contract.
Technician Charges
Sometimes there may be a fee for a technician visit. This can happen in cases like:
- Customer-requested work (e.g., moving your router or reinstalling hardware after renovations).
- Support visits where no fault is found.
- Visits where our technician finds damage caused by third parties (like cut cables or misalignment due to outside contractors).
The technician visit fee is $150 (including GST). However, repairs related to Lightwire’s equipment or workmanship are generally completed at no charge.
Additional Charges
Other fees may apply in certain situations. We will always communicate any additional charges to you upfront.
