Transferring (or "porting") your existing landline number to Lightwire is a simple process—just fill out a quick form, and we’ll take care of the rest. Here are some important things to keep in mind:
- Don’t cancel your current service. We’ll handle the switch for you and notify you once the transfer is complete. Please allow up to 10 business days for the process.
- Your phone line will connect to your router, not the wall jack. Be sure to use the router we provided.
- Monitored or medical alarms aren’t supported over our VoIP service. Check with your alarm provider to see if their system is compatible.
- VoIP isn’t suitable for everyone, so we’re offering a free trial for 2 weeks! You’ll only need to pay for any calls you make during this time.
