Fibre: How to connect your router to the ONT and the internet

This article is designed to help you get internet up and running once your Lightwire router arrives at your home.

  1. Unbox your router and connect one end of the supplied ethernet cable to the blue WAN port on the back of the Huawei router and the other end to the blue 10G LAN port of the Comtrend ONT.

Make sure the power adapters to the router and ONT are plugged in and turned on at the wall.

Connecting the router to the internet

  1. Your router needs to register onto the Lightwire network before you can access the internet. This will take approximately 10 minutes and the router will restart twice. Do not turn off the equipment during this process.

  2. Once you see your “Lightwire” Wi-Fi name appear on your phone or other device, use the password provided (or call us on 0800 12 13 14) to connect to the Wi-Fi. You should now be able to access the internet.
