Will I be able to do gaming on a Lightwire Rural connection?

Due to the nature of wireless technology and the many variables that come along with it, Lightwire cannot guarantee a particular quality of service when it comes to gaming.

If you are a gamer who requires low latency (quick response times) for example, using a wireless service isn't ideal as latency on a wireless connection is inferior to a direct fibre backed service comparatively speaking.

Bandwidth capacity can be important for gaming in some cases too - particularly for updates that may come through. Capacity on a wireless network is typically lower than an urban based DSL or Fibre connection also, and data costs can be higher depending on your usage.

It is also worth noting that 'gaming' has a broad set of definitions and will mean different things to different people. Certain types of gaming place a much higher demand on the internet connection than others.

For example, if you are a professional gamer who requires the highest grade internet connection available then the Rural service may not suit your requirements.

But if you are a parent and have children that want to access and play some educational games that are online then the Lightwire Rural service should be fine for that use case.
