I want to use my own fibre router - what does it need to support?

If your business would like to use its own router, it will need to support the following

  • 1000Base-T Ethernet WAN port with auto-negotiation enabled
  • PPPoE authentication
  • 802.1q VLAN encapsulation on the WAN port

The default UFB profile has VLAN 10 configured on the User-Network Interface (UNI) of the Optical Network Terminal (ONT) installed by the local fibre company.

To get connected using your own router, you'll need to be able to bring up a VLAN 10 tagged interface on your Ethernet WAN port and configure PPPoE to run across it.

We'll supply the PPPoE authentication details closer to the time that your connection goes live. Make sure to make clear when signing up with us that you will require PPPoE details as you will be using your own router.
